About the event
Are you aware that your breath has been and will be your longest relationship ever? So why is it important to reconnect with your breath and learn more about it?
This offering goes beyond the conventional. Diving into the scientific principles and mechanics underlying our breath and the exploration of breathwork practices specifically designed to enhance a connection with our bodies, our breath and the element of water.
What will we be doing? During the first hour, we will learn more about our respiratory system, understanding why it is important to bring more awareness to the way we breathe and how this can influence our lives at all levels.
Science:
- Anatomy of breath
- Biochemistry of breathing
- Biomechanics of breathing. (If all this sounds too technical, do not worry, in other words we will just learn what is it that our body is doing for us to be able to breath and how that is impacting our body and our nervous system)
- Principles of Breathwork.
- Breath and movement
- Rhythm and breath
- Body breath coherence
Practice in the water
We'll engage in exercises designed to promote relaxation in the water, helping to enhance the connection between movement and breath. This will make the correlation between our body's movement and each breath more pronounced. Through these experiences, we'll gain a better understanding of the concepts mentioned above.
Why in the water?
Water provides support for our body and enables our breath to prevent us from sinking. Each
inhalation naturally lifts us toward the surface, while each exhalation tends to bring us back down. As we feel this movement, driven purely by the power of our breath, a new understanding and a deeper connection between body and breath emerge. Through this connection with the water, we find harmony, comprehending concepts like the rhythm of breath and movement/breath coherence, which inevitably guide us to a profound sense of unity within ourselves and a new relationship with our breath!
